// augustus favourites

hey y'all,

I thought I would share a five of my favourite moments and memories from this month.

btw a little heads up, it's all my opinions, nothing is sponsored (yet, hah) and I'm plainly doing it because it really IS my favourites. Hope they will bless you too in some sort of way.

favourite new experience

my uncle is a farmer, he owns a handful thousand pigs and even more fields. Currently it's reaping time, and because of the wet weather here in Denmark, they're a bit behind schedule, which means working night and day, whenever it's dry enough between the wet clouds, anyways, it was my uncle's birthday, and my aunt wanted to surprise him a little through the long shifts out in the fields, so my mom (his sister) made their favourite childhood cookies surprised him on his birthday. He was quite happy about it.
Later on we cooked dinner to all the hard workers, and brought it out the hunters cottage, that were close to the fields they we're reaping. When we we drove out there, there wasn't room for everyone in the car, so me and my cousin would sit back at the pickup, and my aunt surprised us and drove so fast, that things were almost falling of. My mom snapped some photos of me while I was trying not to fall off & get my hair out of my face, as you can see above.
That was really fun, and you can say that was my new favourite experience too, but I wanted to share with you another one; my mom grew up a farmers girl, and since I didn't she thought it was very important I had to experience some farmer-life.
So while we were out on the fields, I climbed into my uncle's big big reaping machine and sat alongside him while he was reaping. (the last photo, it's hard capturing the whole seen with a small iPhone camera.
Sitting up there and looking down at that big machine with those big sharp knives was quite an experience. There were even some ducklings that almost was slaughtered by the big machine, but finally managed to fly away.
I think I'm gonna call this favourite new experience for the farmer experience.
Have you ever been in one of those big reapers? (i'm calling them reapers because I don't know the proper english words for them, and I'm currently too tired to look it up, hah)

favourite candy

in Denmark licorice is very popular, especially the more salty ones / salmiak - at least they're my absolutely favourite, but you can buy them in all sorts of shapes, sizes and types.
And lately I'm really really liking heksehyl. It translates to witchcry or witchscream. weird, I know.
but they're sooooooo good!

and yes, I biked all the 300 meters to the grocerystore just to buy some heksehyl to take this shot for this blogpost.
and know I have to eat them, poor me, haha.

favourite body positive instagrammer

Allie, the girl behind  "just do you, babe!" -  & the instagram handle @allisonkimmey.
She's so full of bubbles, sparkles and glitterstripes.
unlike many body positive instagrammers out there, I always leave her account feeling a little better, she doesn't dwell on the bad comments, she's all about positivity & she's a master of turning the bitter into sweet. & not to mention her versions of #donthatetheshake.
In my opinion she's definitely bringing something unique and beautiful to the whole bopo-community. & if you don't know what glitterstripes is, that's just the bigger reason to check her out. Knowing what glitterstripes is, have changed the game for me.
If you're a parent, you'll find the adorable and wise conversations with her daughter (and son) very informative and good, when it comes to talking about body image and body positivity with your kids. I've picked up some good stuff I know I will use when I'll have kids one day.

So thank you, for being YOU babe!

favourite small business

@hiptipico is a do-good shop who help artisans in Guatemala. They sell beautiful handmade products out in the world and help the artisans earn a proper salary to help them make a living - good living.
this brand really inspire me and their beautiful, authentic and hip products make me swoon. I've already put a few of these beauties on my wishlist. I'm already looking for a good, but pretty backpack and I'm dreaming of that one on the first photo!
And unfortunately my wallet was stolen, so the pretty wallets made made the beautiful woman with the big smile is also a tempting choice. I'd really recommend checking their instagram out, they're not only making quality, handmade products that are beautiful, they also have a really pretty instagram that makes you wanna buy all their stuff. Take my word, and check them out.
You can read more about them and their story here.

favourite instagram august post(s) by me

I couldn't choose, so here's my two favourites..

I made this out of my moms flowers, wild is a word speaking to me in this season & writing the word in the wild, made a lot of sense to me. the photo was even featured in two stories, which is a first and made me pretty happy!

I found this handmade sign, when I was walking a dog in Wales. I just had to capture this beauty, which reminds me of a secret garden or maybe a secret gate to Narnia?

that's all for august.

( there might be affiliate links in my favourites if some of them are buyable - I earn a little commission for each sale made through my affiliate links, but it won't affect your prices.)

music: united pursuit ft Andrea Marie especially; “let it happen” and “head to heart” are my favourites and probably will be for a long time.

movie:the giver” - i love books & movies about different societies, they are realistic, yet very far from the society i’m used too. it gives me perspective and might even make me grateful for for the society i live in. this movie is one of them, starring Katie Holmes, Meryl Streep & Taylor Swift + other great actors i didn’t knew before i saw this movie. as a creative i loved how beautiful and creative this movie was, the story was a bit different, yet with a little romance in a world, that've never felt it before. it made me look at my world with different eyes. a real feel-good movie. it’s also based on a book, which in my opinion, often are the best movies.

artist: Joana Vasconcelos - on my birthday the 11th, I visited aros (art museum in aarhus). if you follow my instagram you might've seen some details from her big art-piece in the middle of the many-floored tall museum-building.  i love details and this beautiful beautiful art piece with lots of fabric and 1000s of tiny tiny details included small mirrors and lots of beads and pearls.

book: “if I stay” and the sequel “where she went” - i’m planing on starting a little book club where i (and others?) review and talk about books i’ve read, i might do one of this sequel as well, so stay tuned!

instagram: @teaheritage they make small customized tea bags in all shapes you can dream of. I'm a fan!

blog: elle & co - she is a blogging expert & the best thing is; she uses squarespace - as me! i barely know any young female blogger who uses squarespace, nonetheless blogs and advice about it. so she's a keeper! + she's authentic.

youtube: i just found the british youtuber Lucy Moon. and i just like her, her talks and authenticity + vulnerability.

podcast: leadstories podcasts - the humorous woman Jo & Steph gets serious about leading as a woman. not many places you hear wisdom from leading woman.

beauty product: my new (and first) lipstick (read more on insta here). it was a fun and brave choice for me. it's a bit dark, and have a colour of a little purple-plummy-ish? goes great with my newly coloured purple hair!

snack: just posted a story on my insta today about some big soft cookies with white chocolate and berries! berries are underrated in cookies - YUM!

that's my favourites this month . What are yours?

// 22 accomplishments at 22

it's been a week since my 22nd birthday the 11th of january, do i have a birthday-twin out there? please, make yourself known, i don't know anyone yet. i'm also slooowly getting used to the new number, anyone else finding that hard? my 21st year, was probably my hardest year yet, so this year I decided to look at some at the things that happened to me // accomplished as a 21 year old with a grateful heart, so I also can remember and focus on the good things that happened to me that year.

  1. i lived in 3 different countries - norway, poland and denmark.
  2. i started learning my 5th language; polish - I speak danish, norweigan & english fluently/native and german "pretty basic" (understand best when i read) + a little bittle polish now too.
  3. i moved to my 3rd country - this was the year that i moved to eastern europe; poland. on e of the biggest cities called lublin. so beautiful, charming city. i will defiantly write posts about this city later on!
  4. i leaded my 1st team trip at all + my 1st overseas - one in norway + one in denmark - where i even got to share my heart with some amazing young danes.
  5. i tried a lot of mutant interpretations; norwegian - english (and vice versa) as a part of an internship on an international bibleschool + "normal" interpretation - from a stage though - from norwegian to danish at a conference (that felt weird btw) the thing is that norwegian and danish are basically the same, but i use my tongue very different, when talking.
  6. represented my bibleschool in stavanger at impuls - a big christian youth conference in norway, but it came with a prize; 13 hour trip that normally takes about 5, car broke down twice, a storm cancelled one of our ferries which meant we had to drive a 5 hour longer detour, crashed the car in a mini parking house, got low blood sugar + broke our candy bowl, hah. but it all ended good and i got closer to an amazing woman who was my partner in crime during the whole time.
  7. i met a lot of new friends from all over the world! - poland, ukraine, phillipines, america, denmark, norway, sweden, england, germany, canada, mexico.. to name a "few".
  8. became a full time volunteering missionary - for about half a year on the east coast in a big city called lublin in poland. which leads me too..
  9. i launched my blog - if that step hadn't happened you my dear reader, wouldn't be hear. and i wouldn't write this - so thanks for reading along!
  10. i got insta-serious - not exactly sure what that means, but i decided to get more serious, i read a lot of articles, blogs and guides on instagram this summer, met some new insta-friends, learned about hashtags and insta-themes (finally landed on enouraging 90s grunge), grown over 300 new followers + got over 400 likes for the first time on this photo of my mom. find me here if you haven't already!
  11. created my art account on instagram; @handmade_bymidnight - i wanted to be a part of a community on insta + have a place to show my art and connect with likeminded artists and have a place to get feedback + hold myself accountable to; check it out here and make me happy! the name? i make a lot of things with my hands, and around midnight is usually where my creativity and hands floooooow.
  12. became a social media manager - i started and/or managed a instagram account, facebook page, news blog + filmed, edited and posted news and testimony videos and photos - interesting doing it for an organisation and not just myself.
  13. learned a lot about communication - the good, the bad and the ugly way. but most importantly i learned what it looks like when it works and when it doesn't. i learned this the really hard way, but it's some valuable lessons & great tools i'm very grateful for.
  14. wrote my first newsletters ever - as a part of being a missionary we wrote monthly newsletters to those who signed up for them. it was both a privilegde and scary writing about me, my experienced and things that happened both in my life and in the missionary work that we did. i guess it was good training for one day opening a newsletter for my blog, maybe?
  15. visited dresden on my first morningstar conference - if you haven't read rick joiner's book - you need to go google him. his books changed my life in my teen years + his prophetic ministry; morningstar - is worth following and learning from. bonus: i also got to see dresden by day! beautiful city with lots of history and unique buildings.
  16. the age i discovered body positivity and finally accepted that i could love my body & that it is a life long journey, but it's totally worth it. thanks to all you brave instagrammers out there who change the world, one body at the time!
  17. roadtrippin' from east poland to east germany - that bus ride (2 busses) took me 14 hours - if i had a car it would've taken about 8 hours.. at least i didn't have to drive and could enjoy the ride + i had wifi the first 9 hours!
  18. took a big stand for myself - i finally realized that i had put myself and my body last on my priority range, it came with a huge cost - I'm still paying for it - but i would pay an even higher prize if i hadn't said stop (read more about that in my last post)
  19. invested in a (life important) heart course - with christa black gifford. she's a hero and she's probably the most authentic, raw and transparent person i've ever experienced. google her, read, listen & learn everything you can from her. it's life changing! should probably mention that it's not about h physical heart, but learning to listen to your heart, your self and your wounds - which is where your reactions, feelings and emotions comes from. it's all about the inner life. we go to the doctor when we break our leg, but we do nothing when our heart breaks, something is wrong and she's changing the world, one heart at the time.. maybe your heart is next?
  20. got a new family member - 17th of september my first niece was born. oh happy day! i've never seen such a cliché dad as my brother, but i love it. if you read this bro, you're a cute dad!
  21. achieved a child wish and got my first polaroid camera! - my whole childhood, teenage years + young adult life i was looking forward to the day i would hold my first polaroid camera - and yay for me cause they just got back in store and i got my dear instax mini 90 neo classic  - the brown one. you can see my first experiments so far here, here & here.
  22. coloured my hair purple - on my last day i coloured my hair purple and bought myself a dark(er) lip stick - my first actually.. I made a whole Insta-post on that here. new year, new me, right?

januarykids, what accomplishments have you done this past year of yours? and when is your birthday? anyone an 11th like me?

xx Line
